As the end of my time at Metairie Ridge as your pastor quickly approaches I can not help but reminisce. In two and a half year much has happened, both in the church and in my personal life. As my family prepares for the next chapter of our life, wherever that may be, know that we are grateful for the friendships we have made within the Metairie Ridge community. As always, I will continue to pray for each of you. I have been struggling with selecting the right words to say goodbye so I will instead leave you with a poem by Rabindranath Tagore.
I have got my leave. Bid me farewell, my brothers!
I bow to you all and take my departure.
Here I give back the keys of my door
--and I give up all claims to my house.
I only ask for last kind words from you.
We were neighbors for long,
but I received more than I could give.
Now the day has dawned
and the lamp that lit my dark corner is out.
A summons has come and I am ready for my journey.
Blessings in Christ,
The Reverend Dan Robertson
